Members Source Credit Union’s Auto Buying Center makes purchasing an automobile easier than ever before.
This step-by-step program will walk you through the automobile research and loan process from the comfort of your home.
Step One: Get a Low Rate
Our rates for new and used automobiles are some of the lowest in the market. While reviewing our rates, be sure to write down the interest rate applicable to the year of the automobile and the term of the loan. You’ll need the interest rate in Step Two to easily calculate your loan payment.
Step Two: Loan Calculator
Instantly compute your new loan payment and determine the amount you can spend on your automobile.
Step Three: Visit Our Loan Desk - Online, over the phone or in person
You know the amount you need to finance and your affordable monthly payments, now it’s time to get your loan pre-approved. We always recommend that our members get their credit union financing arranged first, before shopping for their next automobile. You can apply online, over the phone by calling (219)745-4135 or (800)260-5183 or stop by one of our offices during regular business hours.
Once your loan is pre-approved, return here and go on to Step Four!
Step Four: Take a Test Drive
Now that your financing is arranged, here are some links to help familiarize you with your vehicle of choice.
Car and Driver Buyers Guide - It’s full of data on every vehicle sold in America. Their extensive and informative vehicle testing allows you to find the perfect automobile for you.
N.A.D.A - Get accurate prices on new cars, trucks and vans. Get the latest dealer invoice, manufacturer’s suggested retail, options and equipment for every vehicle on the market.
N.H.T.S.A. - Access crash test scores, safety features or theft ratings for vehicles.
Autopedia’s Used Car Buyer’s Checklist - Rate the overall value of the vehicle you’re considering.
Carfax - Find out if the vehicle you’re looking at has been turned in as a lemon, incurred flood or fire damage and more (VIN needed to run report, fees may apply).
Step Five: Get Into Your New Automobile
Your financing is arranged through the credit union and you have all the information you need to get the best deal on the automobile of your choice. If you will be buying from a dealer, we will need a copy of the Purchase Order. If you are buying from a private party, we will need a copy of the Certificate of Title along with a Bill of Sale from the seller. The Bill of Sale should include: seller’s name, vehicle make, model, year, VIN, mileage, selling price and purchaser’s name.
